How Pucón tours differ
The tours around Pucón fall into three groups: a guided climb of the volcano, river sports on the Río Trancura and long day trips by road. They differ in how much depends on the weather, the volcano and the river. A climb needs calm conditions on the mountain, rafting depends on the water, and a day trip to Huilo Huilo is mostly a question of time on the road.
The examples below come from single operators. They show what one product costs and includes, not a market range, and a listed price is not the final price for every date. Entry to a park is often a separate ticket. Check three things for each tour: the date, the meeting point and what the price covers.

The volcano operator gives a time window of 06:00 to 18:00. Its rules text says adults from 18, while its booking form accepts adults from 13, so ask before you book for a teenager. Ask the rafting operator for the price and duration on your date. Hot springs are usually entry tickets, not tours. Termas Martini lists adults at CLP 50,000 to 55,000, Huife CLP 40,000 and Los Pozones CLP 15,000.

The tour types in detail
What each one involves.
Guided volcano climb
Official travel information requires a certified guide booked in advance and technical gear for the crater climb. The product above lists helmet, ice axe, crampons, outer clothing and gaiters, with at least 2 liters of water and your own food. The guides check the weather and safety before the transfer and on the mountain. The technical alert has been yellow since 4 September 2026, so the climb is not certain on any date. Never climb without an authorized guide.
Guided climbs →Rafting and hydrospeed
Compare the sections, not just the price. The Bajo is described as milder than the Alto, and in winter the Pescador rapid is not run at high water. On the Alto, Marimán is not run but walked around on the bank. Swimming is recommended for the Alto and required for hydrospeed. These are one operator's rules.
Rafting →Huilo Huilo day tour
The route runs through Lican Ray, Panguipulli and Puerto Fuy. The 9 hours are the whole tour, not driving time. Separate portals at the reserve have their own entry fees, so check whether your tour covers the ones you want. The Salto can run without water at times.
Huilo Huilo →Hot springs
Most springs sell an entry ticket for self-drive visits. Termas Martini asks for the 10:00–19:00 block you choose, and the ticket lasts until closing. Transfer packages from Pucón vary, so check what is included before you pay.
Hot springs →What to check before you book
The wording differs more than the prices do.
Date, product and meeting point
The same operator can list several products with different departure points and times. Check that the date, the product and the place match.
Park entry and fees
Park ticket prices are listed differently across sources: CLP 3,400 and CLP 5,000 on the official ticket list, CLP 11,000 on a tourism portal. Ask whether the tour price already includes the entry.
Age and fitness rules
Minimum ages differ by operator and by activity. Do not carry the rule of one product over to another.
Weather and volcano conditions
Ask what happens if the operator cancels because of the volcano, the weather or the river, and whether you get a refund or another date.
Registration at the park
On the road into Villarrica National Park, the CONAF control hut is about 8 km from Pucón at the end of the asphalt. Stop there and register your visit. Fire and heat sources are not allowed in the park.

Pucón tours: frequently asked questions
What is the best tour in Pucón?
That depends on what you want and on the conditions. The table compares single examples, not a ranking. The volcano climb is the most dependent on conditions, rafting on the river and the weather, and the Huilo Huilo trip on time.
How much do Pucón tours cost?
The examples above range from CLP 65,000 for the Huilo Huilo day tour to CLP 150,000 for the guided volcano climb. These are single products for adults in 2026, and extras can change the final price.
Can I climb the volcano without a guide?
No. Official travel information requires a certified guide booked in advance. Do not climb without an authorized guide.
Are park entry fees included?
It differs. The volcano product above includes park entry, and the Huilo Huilo tour includes entry to the attractions. For other trips, ask. Park ticket prices are listed differently across sources, so confirm the amount and the category.
Do I need to book in advance?
